WASHINGTON GAS FOSTERS EMPLOYEE INCLUSION AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

To help foster a positive, inclusive work culture for our employees, Washington Gas has Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which are volunteer-led groups that bring employees together who share common characteristics, interests or life experiences and are open to all allies. The ERGs provide employees the opportunity to share their history, heritage and culture in the workplace. Not only do these employee-led, executive-sponsored groups help employees feel supported and welcome but they also organize events to engage with the communities we serve through a variety of service projects. This year alone, ERGs partnered with community leaders to talk about issues like mental health, packed lunches for local schools, distributed food to fight food insecurity and hosted high school students to share career advice and opportunities to work in the energy industry.
